The Procurement and Contract Management Professional will assist in the successful delivery of procurements being undertaken by the Program and perform a range of contract management activities in the management of these contracts.
Key duties and responsibilities
Role will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Leading and/or assisting in planning and managing ICT procurement activities and schedules the department is responsible for.
- Provide procurement advice and guidance, including informing strategic sourcing models, reviewing draft Statements of Requirement, and providing advice on policies, procedures and
- documentation.
- Work as a part of a team of procurement and contract management staff to ensure delivery of high-quality outputs as part of delivery Vendor Management Office services to the enterprise, including building team capability and encouraging career development
- Drafting and/or assisting to draft procedural, governance, and procurement documentation ensuring compliance with commonwealth frameworks (Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and all relevant additional procurement related policies and legislation) and policies and procedures.
- Coordinating and supporting procurement probity briefings, industry briefings and tender evaluation processes.
- Identify opportunities to provide innovative and effective approaches to procurement practices.
- Performing ICT procurement and contract management-related administrative duties, including invoicing, correspondence, reporting, records management, and scheduling vendor management meetings.
- Performing quality assurance on procedural, governance, and procurement documentation and procurement processes undertaken within the department
- Developing and administering ICT procurement and contract management risk assessments.
- Develop and administer contract management plans and undertake general contract management responsibilities.
- Developing and maintaining strong internal stakeholder relationships, including Program senior manager and members of the Commercial Legal and Procurement Branch.
- Developing and maintaining strong external stakeholder relationships, including representatives of contracted vendor partners and legal firms.
- Communicating using professional judgement, evaluating risks in the context of a complex and changing environment.
- Performing additional duties as directed by the Director/Assistant Director.
- Follow all policies and procedures, (EG: complete mandatory training) and continue to keep APS manager informed on work progress.
- Contribute to electoral event readiness processes, as required.
• Demonstrated high-level knowledge and experience in procurement within a complex program or organisational environment • Proven ability to implement procurement and contracting procedures in line with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and all relevant additional procurement related policies and legislation • Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication, organisation and administration skills
Desirable criteria
• Tertiary qualification in procurement or related discipline • Experience in ICT procurements and contract management • Experience briefing and working alongside senior executives on complex procurements. • Experience conducting risk assessments for ICT procurements
Contract: ASAP - 30/6/2026 with 1 x 12 months extension option
Security Required: Baseline Security Clearance required
Location- Canberra or Queensland - Hybrid - based - 3 days in the office
