Job Description

The Role:

The specialist will work in an agile way within under the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or equivalent

Key Duties: 

1. Liaising closely with Project teams in the database design for new and existing applications on both SQL Server 2012 and 2016

2. Coding Stored Procedures, Triggers and other scripts using T-SQL

3. Developing and maintaining SSIS packages

4. Database administration of SQL Servers including Performance Tuning, Replication, Backup/Recovery and Security

5. Providing ongoing support to Project teams and Production applications and users, including being available after hours on occasion

6. Database release management, including liaising with the Release Team and Production DBAs

7. Participating in reviews of database design, code and documentation

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2012/2016/2017
  • Demonstrated experience in designing databases
  • Demonstrated experience in writing stored procedures and triggers with Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting large databases in a production environment
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining large databases, partitions, indexes etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and managing database releases
  • Demonstrated experience in documenting database design and maintaining data dictionary,
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use communication and negotiation skills to manage stakeholder relationships in a challenging IT environment
Location and Contract Term: This is a Canberra based role. 12 month contract 1 July 2019 - 30 June 2020.

Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens. A currnent Police check is required. Baseliine security clearance is preferred.
