Job Description

1. Review and Approve system architectures, high-level designs and related delivery roadmaps; 
2. Experienced with architecture presentations, solution demos and cross team interactions / collaboration, manage architecture stakeholders and solution portfolio 
3. Review and guide application designs, software architecture and detailed design documentation for software based applications/services; 
4. Provide input and direction into the ICT decision making process to ensure the impact on the entire organisation is considered; 
5. Collaborate with other Enterprise Architect, Business Analysts, Business Stakeholders, technical staff and vendors about all technical aspects of programs and projects, and attend relevant meetings when required especially with consideration of the following: 
a. Perform problem solving and troubleshooting on complex business and technical issues; 
b. Responsible for security considerations in ICT systems design; 
c. Liaise with testers about testing strategies and processes; and 
d. Provide accurate cost estimates for project related works required for ICT system development and integration. 
6. Participate in reviews of system specifications including software applications and ensure architectural compliance and enterprise objectives are achieved; 
7. Provide advice on design and implementation of system changes that will ensure they are maintainable, extensible and result in positive business outcomes; 
8. Advise on investments in technology and appropriate acquisition strategies; 
9. Liaise with departmental and external vendors on enterprise and ICT architecture matters; 
10. Serve as a subject matter expert to influence technology and product strategy by convincing decision makers across multiple domains and working with Architects in each domain 
11. Ability to articulate the relationship between business strategy and technology strategy 
12. Manage a team of cross domain architects 
13. Compile, develop and deliver end-to-end solution roadmaps that guide the evolution of products, and services by applying depth and breadth of expertise in multiple related disciplines 
14. Compile, develop, and deliver architectural guardrails; influence stakeholders and ensure compliance with architectural guardrails within many technology domains that support the needs of products teams to reliably launch products and services 
15. Establish Baseline, transition and future Architecture roadmaps for the program 

Experience Required:
1. Experienced in creating standards, architecture road 
2. Experience working on large federal government projects 
3. Experience working within an Agile environment 
4. Excellent understanding of application development methodologies and infrastructure and network architecture 
5. In-depth knowledge and experience within the application architecture domain 
6. Strong knowledge of infrastructure 
7. Experience in architectural disciplines across a range of projects and technologies 
8. Significant experience as an Architect with specific knowledge across Systems Integration, Apps Development, and Infrastructure 
9. Experience in resolving solution design and architecture contentions with stakeholders 
10. Minimum 20+ years related work experience as software architect, software engineer, programmer. 

Lead the development of strategies within one or more domains of specialisation 
Manage the development and delivery of position papers to support new business initiatives, business cases, risk assessments, new patterns, reference architectures and standards for initiatives which are not in-pattern for the standard client environment 
Lead research activities and provide expert advice on IT directions, strategy, candidate technologies, and the re-use of enterprise IT capabilities within a framework of the companies policies, priorities, objectives and strategy 
Deliver solutions with a large degree of independence across the enterprise architecture to support business needs 
Plan, coordinate and manage allocated resources, work area priorities and workflows 
Anticipate future challenges in the companies IT requirements and position the client to meet these challenges and remain up to date with IT industry and market trends, incorporating them into the companies enterprise architecture 
Develop and implement architecture capability roadmaps and impact assessments to support business outcomes 
Has expertise in defining enterprise architecture policies, standards, principles, reference architectures and procedures for development 
Think about systems sustainability, longevity and end to end operability when establishing patterns and design solutions 
Translate complex business strategies, goals and issues into tactical and strategic initiatives across multiple areas of specialisation 
Develop and maintain a network of relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to communicate the enterprise architecture and provide advice and guidance on the effectiveness 
of the organisation's business processes 
Display, educate and transfer knowledge to others, guide and mentor less experienced employees and work collaboratively to achieve business outcomes 
Apply detailed knowledge of the enterprise architecture and advise or grant exemptions as delegated 
Apply high level judgement in the assessment of solutions and provide assurance that they comply with the clients enterprise architecture and IT standards 
Initiate, manage and execute Architecture governance forums
