Job Description

The Data Analyst will responsible for assessing the tax and non-tax related allegation, and conduct high level data analysis tasks and reporting. 
Most of our work involves some form of contact with our clients, either in written, over the phone and via our portals. The officer is responsible for analysing referrals internally and externally, and those provided by members of the community wishing to provide information of non-compliance to the organisation. They will deal with complex information and undertake investigation and evaluation of information, including fraud and/or litigation support. 
Responsibilities include:
• Be accountable for specific data analysis tasks and action requests for stakeholders as required, including providing specialised advice and recommendations 
• Utilises analytic techniques and methods independently to develop technical data solutions to achieve business outcomes 
• Gather and investigate data and statistical information from a variety of sources to undertake business system and solution design; consider identified risks, trends, impediments and opportunities and develop and implement strategies to address them 
• Prepare and contribute to reports and risk profiles as required 
• Manage relationships with stakeholders across a range of issues to influence desired outcomes and to achieve work area and agency goals 
• Work collaboratively to utilise analytic techniques and methods to develop technological situations to achieve business outcomes 
• Identify and resolve complex problems using specialist knowledge and experience, identification and development of ideas, analysis of alternative courses of action and their implications 
• Constructively analyse issues to identify improvements about how own work is performed to achieve business outcomes 
Skills required 
• Consistently behave in an honest, ethical and professional manner, be fair and equitable in the treatment of people and transparent in dealings with them 
• Be proficient in undertaking and managing complex research and analysis of data extraction associated with identifying and sizing compliance risks, monitoring and profiling, program evaluation, trend analysis and data collection
