Job Description

Seeking a Web Content Team Lead,  Web Content Writer and a Web Content Editor  for immediate start

The Role:
The Department is building a multidisciplinary Digital Experience team to create client-centred content for the new website.
The team will work with business areas to refine existing content and develop new web content in line with the departments content guidelines.

The Web Content Team Lead responsibilities include
  • Lead Website Content team including editors, writers and project support
  • Provide strategic direction for web content development
  • Provide advice on procedures for content development and management
  • Edit and clear content in line with DTA and internal guidelines
  • Lead, support and train the content team
  • Set goals, expectations and a positive example for the content team
The Web Content Writer responsibilities include:
  • research existing content
  • collaborate with business areas to update content and create new web content
  • explain complex information and concepts in a clear and concise way
  • write in plain English and follow accessibility guidelines
  • be an active team member who is confident to seek clarification when required
  • work to deadlines
The Web Content Editor responsibilities include:
  • create, edit and clear web content
  • explain complex information and concepts in a clear and concise way
  • write in plain English and follow accessibility guidelines
  • meet publication standards and establish goals and expectations
  • offer advice around content design and information architecture
  • guide and support less experienced staff members
  • engage with multiple stakeholders and prioritise tasks
  • work to deadlines

The Web Content Team Lead
  • Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and develop agreed guidelines for content writing processes - 30%
  • Demonstrated ability to edit and approve web content in line with DTA and internal writing guidelines  - 30%
  • Ability to communicate with influence by negotiating confidently, listening to and adapting to feedback, and communicating clearly, including cultivating productive internal and external working relationships - 20%
  • Ability to lead a content team and support the development of other team members to embed knowledge and skills - 20%
The Web Content Writer
Essential criteria
  • Demonstrated ability to research and write web content in line with writing guidelines - 60%
  • Ability to offer advice around content design and information architecture -20%
  • Ability to communicate with influence by negotiating confidently, listening to and adapting to feedback, and communicating clearly, including cultivating productive internal and external working relationships - 10%
  • Ability to work as part of a team and support the development of other team members to embed knowledge and skills - 10%
Desirable criteria
  • Experience with virtual assistant/chatbot content and management
The Web Content Editor
Essential criteria
  • Demonstrated ability to create, edit and clear web content in line with DTA and internal writing guidelines - 60%
  • Ability to offer advice around content design and information architecture - 20%
  • Ability to communicate with influence by negotiating confidently, listening to and adapting to feedback, and communicating clearly, including cultivating productive internal and external working relationships - 10%

Location and Contract Term:

The role is based Canberra with a 12 Month Contract.

Security Clearance Required:
