Job Description

Seeking an IT Application Developer 

Key Duties: 

• Be accountable for activities involving the development and/or maintenance of the ABR application in accordance with department  standards and guidelines in the ABR Production support team. 
• Actively participate in an Agile/DevOps environment, (SAFe) which may include technical analysis, design, building, testing, documenting, implementation and maintenance 
• Have excellent communication skills and work collaboratively with scrum team members, internal and external stakeholders and business product owners 
• Take the initiative to undertake problem solving and incident resolution and demonstrate an understanding of change control and release management procedures 
• Provide advice and undertake more-complex activities associated with developing and/or supporting the ABR application 
• Apply technical skills to design, implement and support workable solutions to meet business requirements 
• Develop and maintain a network with others internally and externally, build relationships with team members, management and a range of stakeholders 
• Research and develop continuous improvement processes to enhance procedures of current and new work practices 
• Develop and maintain necessary levels of expertise and take responsibility for sharing knowledge with others 
• Deliver maintenance and enhancements or provide knowledge to systems using one or more of the following .Net, VB, C#, XML, SQL Server and Microsoft Web Services, ASP.NET, Microsoft Visual Studio. (.Net is most desirable language) 


Skills and Experience Required:
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience delivering IT solutions with a significant portion of this delivering med-large scale devel
  • Have relevant skills and proven experience working in an Agile/DevOps environment
  • Maintain effective performance levels, own expertise and build the skills of staff through knowledge transfer
  • Provide expert advice to senior staff and relevant business areas on operational and administrative work, and develop strategies to resolve operational and administrative problems
  • Have skills and experience leveraging cloud technologies (desirable)
  • Have skills and experience designing and implementing API management technologies (SOAP/REST, XML/JSON, XSLT) (desirable) 
Location and Contract Term: This is a Brisbane based role. Approx start date 16 September 2019 with contract till 13 September 2020. 2 x 12 month contract extension options pending budget and delegate approval.
