Provision of suitable candidates for two 36 months non-ongoing roles as below:  1. Senior Systems Administrator 2. Technical Architect   

Senior Systems Administrator   
Role Description & Responsibilities  The role of Senior System Administrator is to contribute to and oversee the development of Discreet and Covert systems. The Senior System Administrator will be a senior member of a team responsible for the design, build, test and deployment and integration of technical solutions for official online activities.    As well as development activities, the candidate will contribute to and oversee implemented Linux  and Windows desktop and laptop solutions. The candidate will also contribute to and oversee server deployments, Software updates and maintaining solutions through group policies and automation scripts using Powershell, Bash and Python. The Senior Systems Administrator provides advice to other areas of the Department as required and actively participates in the strategic direction of the Support Capability portfolio.  The team is responsible for specialist technical solutions to facilitate and execute the creation, installation and maintenance of Discreet and Covert systems. This includes operating system deployments, data management and other specific software and hardware.   

Essential Requirements  
This role requires high level skills and experience in the following:
  • VMWare 
  • Deployment and Scripting
  • Cloud Implementation 
  • Linux and Citrix 

Technical Architect 
 
Role Description & Responsibilities 
The role of Technical Architect is to lead and oversee the development of Discreet and Covert systems. The ICT architect will be the senior member of a team responsible for the design, build, test and deployment of discreet and covert official online activities.    As well as designing solutions the candidate will contribute to and oversee implemented Linux  and Windows desktop and laptop solutions. The candidate will also design and secure bespoke environments to house these systems. The candidate will contribute to the development and oversee all aspects of the developed systems. The ICT Architect will provide advice to other areas of the Department as required and actively participates in the strategic technical direction of the Support Capability portfolio.    The team is responsible for specialist technical solutions to facilitate and execute the creation,  installation and maintenance of Discreet and Covert systems. This includes data management, datacentre design and other specific software and hardware design decisions.

  • Secure system design
  • Cloud implementation 
 
Location and Contract Term: Canberra based roles.  36 month non ongong contract with an approx start date of 1 November
