Job Description

The Role: 

  The Capability Development Management and Reporting Tool (CDMRT) is a portfolio information management system that is used to capture portfolio, program and project information throughout the life of a capability project, including planning, delivery, sustainment through to disposal.

CDMRT functions will be transitioned into a new replacement system, CapabilityOne,  resulting in several new capability management modules to support various phases of the capability lifecycle. CapabilityOne is being developed using .Net frameworks, C#, SQL Server databases, and COGNOS Frameworks and reporting. 

The Database Administrator will have the skills and experiences identified below, and will be integral to maintaing CDMRT and CapabilityOne databases.


Skills and Qualification/Deliverable; 


 Database Administration Services

3. Services required to manage the CDMRT / CapabilityOne Microsoft SQL Server databases will include:

a) Administration, monitoring, configuration, upgrade and install Microsoft SQL Server databases to support CDMRT and CapabilityOne including delivery of service using:

  i) SQL Server Management Studio;

  ii) SQL Server Reporting Services;

  iii) SQL Server Business Intelligence Design Studio; and

  iv) SQL Server Integration Services. 

b) Performance of regular CDMRT and CapabilityOne database backups, and ensure backups will support recovery needs;

c) Maintain the performance and availability of databases that store information for CDMRT and CapabilityOne;

d) Develop and maintain procedures and documentation for CDMRT and CapabilityOne databases; 

e) Design and implement changes to CDMRT and CapabilityOne databases to support new information requirements.

4. Provide advice, guidance and assistance and support to other team members, APS and third parties as required.
