Job Description

The Role:

The Department is seeking the services of a hard-working Financial Analyst to work within the Information Technology Division (ITD) Commercial Management Section. This position will report directly to the Director, Commercial Management.  

Key Duties: 

Analyse financial information, prepare financial reports to determine or maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability,appropriations or other financial activities of the Information Technology Division 

Review, develop and improve accounting procedures and standard operating procedures. 

Assist in budget planning, costing and forecasting. 

Coordinate internal and externally driven budget process and input information into TM1. 

Reviewing existing systems and processes to develop more efficient and automated solutions. 

Monitor, analyse and prepare manage reporting.

Conduct price or cost analysis in connection with procurement actions or financial initiatives 

Policy and planning and stakeholder management: organise, direct,contract and coordinate financial activities relating to IT across the organisation.

 

Skills and Experience Required:

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA/MBA preferred 

Must have advanced MS Excel skills, SAP experience and TM1 experience preferred. 

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 

Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced environment 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills  Maturity, professionalism, and high level of discretion are required 

Knowledge of procedural controls and data validation techniques required 

Independent worker and analytical thinker with ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems 

Strong presence with the ability to interact with Senior Leadership  


Location and Contract Term: Canberra based role. Immediate start and contract till 30 June 2020. Extension options pending budget and delegate approval

 
Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens to apply. A baseline security clearance, along with a valid Police Check (no more than 12 months old) is required.
