Job Description
The Release Manager will work with the Delivery Stream Leads, Project Managers, Delivery Partners, and other stakeholders to support the Delivery Stream's release and vendor management activities.
Strong vendor management skillsets and experience are crucial for this role. A key responsibility is to prioritise work items to be delivered by the vendor to ensure delivery objectives and timelines of multiple projects are met.
The role will also be expected to interact effectively across a diverse range of stakeholders to devise a release policy which can support a complex multi-year transformation program across a range of Cloud and On-Premise application platforms, leveraging vendor and partner teams with multiple projects delivered in various methodologies including agile and hybrid models.
To be successful in the role the Release Manager must be able to meet deadlines, sustain high quality outputs, marshal broad expertise towards common outcomes, and have a meticulous approach to project documentation and standards.
The Release Manager will be expected to operate as part of the team, across projects and streams, within the Department Program and adhere to a common project framework, including standard approaches to scheduling, finances and planning. Within the role there will be flexibility to influence those frameworks and utilize their expertise to enhance the overall outcomes of the program.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Demonstrated achievement of delivery and release management roles, in both the establishment and delivery phases of multi-year technology refresh and/or transformation programs (valued at more than $100m)
- Proven project delivery capability including overseeing multiple concurrent service providers and customer implementation teams
- Demonstrated experience working with technically complex projects involving high volume transactions, very large data sets and the integration of multiple technologies
Location and Contract Term: Melbourne based role. Immediate start with contract till June 2022.
