Job Description
The Role:
The technical business analyst will be responsible for gathering metadata requirements, working closely with the department’s metadata working group (MDWG) and other subject matter experts. Once the requirements have been identified, the technical business analyst will work with the MDWG to make recommendations in the form of a functional solution options paper. This individual will have strong broad business analysis skills and experience coupled with a strong understanding of metadata, standards and tools.

Essential criteria
- Lead requirements gathering for the metadata project
- Undertake detailed user research and analysis of business/technical requirements of the project
- Documenting user stories and use cases
- Review metadata tools
- Prepare a functional solution options paper and present it to key stakeholders (functional specification)
- Knowledge of metadata, tools and standards
- Minimum 5+ years technical business analysis experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with proven engagement, collaboration and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to analyse and assess options
- Demonstrated ability to prepare functional solution options paper
Location
The role is based in Canberra, 5 Month Contract with possible extension options
