Job Description
The Role:
The department is seeking an experienced Change Manager, to provide change, training and communication activities supporting two projects in the Finance business area. These projects are replacing a number of existing manual business processes and capabilities with new automated system change. There is expected change in both the Finance business unit as well as for staff across all offices in Australia.
The Change Manager will work with the Project Manager and Business Analyst as well as key business stakeholders, including the project sponsor (CFO) and the departments internal Communications team. The duties that the Change Manager will need to provide include, but are not limited to:
• Identification and analysis of stakeholders likely to be impacted by change
• Determine the scope and impact of business change, including the development of formal business impact assessments
• Conduct and facilitate change planning sessions, document outcomes and recommendations
• Prepare vendor supplied training materials for delivery of training to staff
• Assess and facilitate business readiness
• Provide change support through activities such as: communications, training and development, leadership support, stakeholder engagement and transition to business as usual
• Drafting of a Communications and Change Management Plan (including schedule and deliverables), for approval by the Project Board
• Implementation of the Communication and Change Management Plan
• Pre and post go live support for business users
Selection criteria
Essential criteria
- Experience in planning and conducting workplace and IT organisational change for service delivery in Commonwealth organisations and programs (including cultural change in small organisations)
- Experience in facilitating change planning, including stakeholder identification, business impact analysis, change management planning and reporting
- Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail with the development of both internal and external communications with experience in leading the Corporate Communications for Commonwealth Departments
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Ability to develop strong relationships with peers and operational teams
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team with the flexibility to work in complex and dynamic environments
- Strong leadership skills within Commonwealth and Private sector organisations
- Ability to work with IT Systems and how they relate business change events
- Business Analyst or System Analyst experience
The role is based in Canberra, 6 Month Contract with 1 X 6 Months possible extension options
