Seeking a Content Strategist The right person will be a creative and enthusiastic Content Strategist that can drive the strategic transformation of content across the department

The Role:

The Department is looking for a dynamic, user-centred Content Strategist for a six month contract. The right person will be a creative and enthusiastic Content Strategist that can drive the strategic transformation of content across the department. In this key leadership role, you will lead best practice in implementing a content strategy, define new governance structures, mentor teams, share knowledge and expertise with others that delivers a capability uplift across the organisation. You will help create and curate the information and insights that guides clients through their journey and finds ways to measure the success of the content. This is an opportunity to work on large scale transformation across the organisation.

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications and significant experience (a minimum of 5 years’) working in a content strategy role in a large organisation that produces high volumes of content -15%
  • An understanding of the challenges that exist for government in creating simple, clear and fast information and services  - 10%
  • Confidence in leading change across an organisation through influence  - 10%
  • Strong ability to work productively with internal and external stakeholders  - 10%
  • Experience in working with a culturally diverse organisation combined with a willingness to actively promote an environment of mutual respect for diversity and cultural differences. - 5%
  • Front-line content production and publishing experience (offline and online) that you can use to effectively translate into ideas, tactics and action plans and identify opportunities for efficiencies  - 5%
  • Experience in designing and managing workflow and governance processes for content creation, archival, approval and publishing  - 10%
  • Demonstrated experience developing content roadmaps and content matrix recommendations (offline and online), as well as metadata strategies and recommendations based on keyword and SEO findings.  - 10%
  • Information architecture (IA) experience including the development of navigation and taxonomy models, validated by both qualitative and quantitative content auditing.  - 10%
  • Experience in uplifting the content capability of others through formal and informal programs.  - 15%
Desirable criteria

  • Familiarity with the Australian Governments DTA standards.  - 40%
  • Ability to produce executive and ministerial briefings.  - 20%
  • Demonstrated experience in human centred design and agile ways of working - 40% 

Location and Contract Term:

The role is based in Sydney or Canberra Based, 6 Month Contract

Security Requirements:

Applicants must be Australian Citizens. Baseline Security Clearance is required
