Job Description
The Role:
The key elements of the work include:
You will be leading an activity to establish a fully automated process for cloud billing, using cloud native big data toolsets, to process billing from the departments cloud service providers and turn the data into information that allow managers and application owners to make fully informed decisions.
The outcome of this activity is to ensure faster access to accurate cloud spend information, together with a reduced reliance on intensive manual processes that exist today.
You will:
- build and sustain stakeholder networks and work collaboratively with others to identify requirements and achieve outcomes,
- establish a high-level roadmap which will achieve the objectives outlined,
- commit to designing, analysing and articulating the business requirements of the problem, ensuring alignment with design, system development and maintenance methodologies,
- break the work into manageable deliverables over the medium term,
- identify the benefits and costs of the proposed solution and critically analyse business risks and coordinate the development of countermeasures and contingency plans
- execute the hands-on build of the cloud data gathering, sanitisation and analysis solution,
- consult and share with senior stakeholders to manage the scope of change and client expectations,
- maintain effective performance levels while sharing expertise and providing constructive feedback to develop the team, and
- document and carry out a hand-over (service transition) of the implemented solution.
Essential criteria
Successful candidate would have (Core Skillset):
As a specialist within a team, you will develop and maintain productive working relationships and work under pressure to meet deadlines and maintain services.
You will have good leadership skills and experience and will look to optimise opportunities and identify and manage associated risks.
You will be hands-on in implementing the solution and related services.
You will have a background in cloud services design and implementation and will be skilled in cloud infrastructure solutions. You will be able to learn quickly, understand, and work with new emerging technology and solutions in cloud.
You will be passionate about being at the forefront of change, ready to help support and enable the delivery of meaningful value to clients.

Successful candidate would have (Core Skillset):
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing automated data gathering, sanitisation, integration and reporting systems,
• Experience working with big data tools in AWS and Azure Cloud environments
• Demonstrated ability to identify and manage common risks in the Cloud, and formulate and execute cloud strategies
• Understanding of data analytics concepts and applications
Skill in a broad toolset including:
• AWS Athena / RedShift
• Microsoft PowerBI
• SQL
• PowerShell / scripting
• Lambda
• Python / R
Location and Contract Term:
The role is based in Canberra, 6 Month Contract with 1 X 6 Months possible extension options
Security Requirements:
Applicants must be Australian Citizens. Ability to obtain a baseline Security Clearance
