Job Description

Seeking a Business Analysts/Technical writers with strong technical writing skills.

The Role:

The successful candidates will have solid expertise in technical writing. They will have experience working on large and complex digital/ICT projects. Ideally they will have experience working on CMS projects or working as part of a team delivering a significant digital project. They must have demonstrated experience communicating complex technical ideas to all levels of stakeholders, from senior executive to project managers to developers and system users. Artefacts requiring development include fact sheets, knowledge base articles, website content, business process maps and operating procedures. They will report to the GovCMS Product Owner and will collaboratively to analyse gaps in current documentation across the program. They will build a backlog of artefacts requiring development and collaborate with others in the GovCMS team using agile delivery methods, ensuring they align with the GovCMS objectives and follow an articulated service design process. They will work with the Product Owner to ensure that the artefact backlog is effectively managed, groomed, prioritised and delivered in the time allocated.

The Business Analysts must demonstrate that they are highly proficient in foundational BA skills working in Agile, such as:

• Communication (both verbal and written)

• Ability to elicit, analyse, prioritise and manage requirements

• Collaboration with all levels of stakeholders

• Time-boxing and iterative development All work will be done on site at the Department of Finance, Canberra. Candidates already located in Canberra are preferred.

Skills and Experience Required:
  • Demonstrated proficiency to identify, scope and clarify requirements to draft artefacts and manage them through the end-to-end artefact creation cycle (technical writing) - 40%
  • Demonstrated high-level engagement skills with a wide range of stakeholders throughout the end-to-end artefact creation cycle - 20%
  • Demonstrated experience working in agile methodology - 20%
  • Demonstrated experience with UX/service design process methodology working on user-centric design and development initiatives – 20%

  • Understanding of and familiarity with service design and delivery processes including the Digital Service Standard-30%
  • Experience working on significant digital projects-40%
  • Experience creating artefacts to support large complex systems-30%

Location and Contract Term:

Canberra based. 4 Month Contract with 1 x 1 Month extension option

Security Requirements:

Baseline Security Clearance Required
