The Department is setting up a multi-disciplinary team to deliver the whole of government Hosting Strategy.
The role of the telecommunications subject matter expert will be to develop the business case for a telecommunications network interconnecting data centres used by government agencies. You will be responsible for applying your domain knowledge to analyse and then align industry and government needs, requirements, operations and commercial motivations.
The business case will inform advice/recommendations for decision making, strategy, briefing material and feasibility of a government telecommunications network. It will also help shape whole-of-government advice about the hosting, processing and securing of data managed by Australian Government agencies.
Depending upon progress, you may also assist in achieving other Hosting Strategy objectives.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Minimum two year’s experience in designing and operating a network of high-speed telecommunications services for connecting geographically spread sites - 60%
- Demonstrated experience in developing business cases for the
- Australian Public Service, including knowledge of the Budget process
- and ICT first and second business cases. - 30%
- Experience in working on whole of government products.10%
Location and Contract Term:
Canberra or Sydney based. 6 Month Contract with 1 x 6 Month extension option
Must be an Australian Citizen. Ability to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance
