Job Description

The Software Tester will work under limited direction as a member of a team responsible for testing software developed in house and systems with integrated Commercial Off the Shelf and Government Off the Shelf software, documenting test processes and outcomes and assisting software development and engineering staff with further testing and deployment. The Software Tester will be expected to identify and facilitate process improvement for approaches to testing and integration.

Major Responsibilities:
  1. Run integration scripts and document faults and failures in a clear and concise manner with guidance from the project team.
  2. Design test cases and test scripts without specific direction or assistance.
  3. Work effectively as a productive member of an integrated Agile team to support a prioritised schedule of work.
  4. Document technical processes and report risks and faults in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
  5. Support productive working relationships by working cohesively and flexibly with the developer team, the broader program team, key business partners and stakeholder groups.
  6. Identify and report on any blockages that may affect the schedule of work. 

Location and Contract Term: The role is based in Canberra. 9 months contract, Extension options: 2 x 12 months.

Security Requirements: Must hold either a current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance OR have held a TSPV in the previous 12 month period (which has since been downgraded). 

SFIA security level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 3.
