Job Description

The Portfolio Management Analyst is accountable under broad direction for the development and application of core elements of a systematic management framework to define and deliver a portfolio of programmes, projects and/or ongoing services in support of large complex department business strategies and objectives.
Skills and Knowledge required:
  1. Desirable: Management of Portfolios Practitioner and/or Managing Successful Programmes Practitioner accreditation
Major Responsibilities:
  1. Provide support and assurance to major project planning activities, including reviewing and supporting the development of cost models and other key project artefacts.
  2. Develop and implement core elements of  large complex department’s Portfolio Management framework including Benefits Realisation, Performance tracking, Prioritisation and Risk Management functions.
  3. Conduct portfolio, programme and project analysis activities, reviewing performance data to identify and produce reports that articulate portfolio-level risk and issues to be feed into decision-making bodies.
  4. Assist in regular quality reviews of internal Portfolio Management processes and outputs.
  5. Provide effective engagement with key internal and external stakeholders ensuring customers’ expectations, requirements and needs are captured within work-plans.
Location and Contract Term: The role is based in Canberra. 12 months contract.
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered.
SFIA security level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 5.
