Job Description

We have an opportunity for a creative individual with a passion for translating ordinary charts and data into stimulating and engaging visual components. You will have a passion for infographics and designing information with visual impact. From time to time you may be involved in other more traditional graphic design projects. You stay current with the latest trends, likely through blogs and newsletters like or
Skills and Knowledge required:
  1. Demonstrated experience (a portfolio) visualising infographic collateral based on data.
  2. Relevant experience or qualifications relating to graphic design.
  3. Demonstrated experience creating interactive reports and analytics dashboards (links or screenshots).
  4. Experience or qualifications in data science or statistics.
  5. Experience working with health information.
  6. Experience working in Government.
Major Responsibilities:
  1. Working collaboratively and communicating effectively in cross-functional teams.
  2. Developing visually stimulating and intuitive information graphics.
  3. Providing continuity of design to products and assets created by the large complex government department.
  4. Working with a technical team to deliver impacting dashboards, using tools like Tableau, Cognos, and open-source visualisation libraries (D3.js, Bokeh, Graphana etc.)
  5. Developing online and printed collateral design e.g. input to an Intranet/Internet site or helping to layout a booklet
  6. Presenting reports, analyses and findings to management and others as scheduled or requested.
Location and Contract Term: The role is based in Canberra.  12 months contract.
Security Requirements: Minimum Baseline clearance
