Job Description

Our Large Federal Government client is seeking individuals with broad Linux-based software development experience. The successful candidates will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing software components into the large complex government department node as well as building testing and supporting instances of the designed node.
 
Skills and Knowledge required:
  1. Greater than 8 years of software development experience.
  2. Experience developing software for Linux operating systems.
  3. Experience securing and hardening Linux operating systems.
  4. Experience designing and documenting software development components.
  5. Experience automating and scripting application installation and customisation.
  6. Experience developing technical documentation.
  7. Ability to provide technical advice to meet business requirements.
  8. Experience working with deployable communication and information systems.
  9. Understanding of software development processes.
  10. Experience working within agile project management frameworks.
  11. Experience with DEVOPS methodologies.
 
Location and Contract Term: The role is based in Canberra.  12 months contract, 2 x 12-month extension options.
 
Security Requirements: Due to the nature of the work, must have a current negative vetting level 1 clearance and be prepared to upgrade to negative vetting level 2.
