Job Description

The Business Consultant will use their influence and business skills to establish and deliver the Technology Refresh Roadmap for the Department’s Enterprise Storage and Backup systems. The role will need the candidate to engage a broad range of stakeholders both internally and within the large complex government department.
 
Skills and Knowledge required:
  1. Appropriate qualifications and/or experience, preferably in the field of Systems Engineering, Technical Project management, Capability Management, Sustainment Management.
  2. Demonstrated experience with the capability life cycle phases with regards to accountabilities and responsibilities, activities, key documentation, and decisions made across the whole-of-life of a capability from inception to disposal.
  3. Knowledge/experience with stakeholder engagement involving Government multi-agency ICT interoperability.
 
Major Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver a Technology Refresh Roadmap for current operational enterprise class storage and backup systems
  2. Engage and liaise with assigned project representatives and other support teams regarding Enterprise storage and backup systems
  3. Engage with vendors throughout Support and Maintenance contract review and negotiations.
 
Location and Contract Term: The role is based in Canberra. 12 months contract.
 
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered.
 
SFIA security level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 5.
