Job Description for Assistant Clinical Director

The Assistant Clinical Director (ACD) will conduct assessments, write behavioural support plans and programs, and assist with the implementation and/or supervision of Senior Behaviour Support Practitioner, Behaviour Support Practitioners and  Behavioural Therapists. The work is based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support for children and adults in the home, community, and school/workplace settings.

This position is answerable directly to the Clinical Director. Your duties and expectations will be outlined within this document. You may be required to perform additional duties from time to time to suit business and clientele needs. Where appropriate, training will be provided in relation to your duties.


POSITION DESCRIPTION AND EXPECTATIONS


The direct clinical duties and responsibilities of behaviour Analyses include:
·Provide direct behavioural interventions in individual and group sessions
·Train therapists and direct care staff on current behaviour plans
·Develop Functional Behavioural Assessments and Behaviour Analysis Support Plans
·Graph data in a standardized format
·Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual paperwork at scheduled times
·Work with varying professionals including doctors, psychiatrists, speech therapists, and occupational therapists to develop and implement individualized goals and checklists
·Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending conferences, reviewing professional publications, attaining Continuing Education Credits.
·Ensure all ethical procedures are met
·Attending family team meetings and agency management meetings
·Participates in internal agency quality review meetings and activities
·Conduct in-service training where necessary
·Participate in behaviour management committee to review procedures and treatment plans 
·Develop policies and procedures for crisis situations
·Provide support in crisis situations
·Timely and accurate documentation of incidents and plans
·Adhere to funding body requirements including NDIS
·Adhere to NDIS quality and safeguard commission requirements
·Provide brief counselling or support to families and/or clients as required
·Use evidence-based theories to inform interventions 
·Use behavioural and/or psychological theories to inform program design 


Additional requirements: 
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·Adherence to client confidentially 
·Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets accordingly
·Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time
·Must have WWCC/WWVP card (or similar; depending on state requirements)
·Must have a valid driver’s licence
·Must hold a undergraduate or post graduate degree related to Positive Behaviour Support.
·Must complete a postgraduate qualification in Applied Behaviour Analysis and sit the BCBA exam successfully (you will be assisted to do this). If you do not hold a postgraduate qualification in this area.
·Must complete introductory IABA training in Non Linear Multi-element Positive Behaviour Support (you will be assisted to do this).


Position Review: this position will be reviewed at the end of the probationary period (6 weeks), and every three months thereafter for the first year, and then on an annual basis.
