Business Intelligence Analyst
|Job Title:||Business Intelligence Analyst|
|Contact Name:||Kelly Shockley|
|Job Published:||September 01, 2020 13:17|
There are two streams of work that will be pursued:
Business Developed Applications (BDA’s)
a. BDA’s represent a significant cost saving for the Department that has developed over many years. They primarily use Microsoft Office Macros, VBA, Access Databases and InfoPath forms.
b. As the Department seeks to deliver a better Client and Staff Experience through upgrading its technology to contemporary versions, challenges exist with future release cycle/methodology of existing automation pathways.
c. Many of our existing automations rely on MS Office Capabilities that are either end of life of may be so in the future, or will be subject to update frequencies that will make support for these automations difficult.
As a result of impending upgrades to office 365 and windows 10 there is a requirement to remediate existing BDA’s to ensure they can function and deliver these benefits into the future.
Through a process of ideation the Department has developed a large number of use cases suitable for Automation using RPA tools.
a. The Department has engaged a supplier with RPA expertise to conduct detailed process reviews and RPA suitability design work on the identified use cases and more generally on automation opportunities.
b. A qualified program of work and backlog is currently being developed.
c. Additional value stream use cases will develop over the life of this program and there will be a need for Process Mapping, process optimisation and solution design for new use cases. That will also require a re-prioritisation of the backlog to deliver the best value to the organisation.
The Department wishes to develop processes, artefacts and practices that support the building of this capability, and seeks an experienced business analyst with skills at process mapping and business process optimisation.
