Job Description

The Systems Engineer will be accountable under the general direction of a Senior Systems Engineer / Program Manager for the design of systems to meet specified requirements, compatible with agreed systems architectures, adhering to corporate standards and within constraints of performance and feasibility. The identification of concepts and their translation into a design which forms the basis for systems construction and verification. The design or selection of components. The development of a complete set of detailed models, properties, and/or characteristics described in a form suitable for implementation. The adoption and adaptation of systems design lifecycle models based on the context of the work and selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.
 
Skills and Knowledge required/ Major Responsibilities:
  1. Assists with engineering services in all aspects of the system development lifecycle.
  2. Engages with relevant stakeholders to develop documentation to support the requirements definition, including but not limited to: requirements specifications, process maps, service design artefacts, functional and non-functional requirements, change management implications, data and reporting considerations.
  3. Analyses complex systems and applies engineering expertise to identify and recommend courses of action.
  4. Assists in the continuous improvement process by developing and enhancing procedures. Identifies potential technology-based options to realise system improvements.
 
Desirable:
  1. Minimum 3 year’s Systems Engineering experience.
  2. Desirable Certification: INCOSE ASEP Certified or equivalent.
 
SFIA Level of Responsibility Required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 4.
 
Location and Contract Term: The role is based in Canberra. 24 months contract.
 
Security Requirements: Due to the nature of the work, we require a minimum NV2 security clearance level. Candidates with current or recently held (and able to be re-activated) TSPV clearances will be highly regarded. All successful candidates will need to hold or upgrade to a TSPV prior to commencement
