Job Description

The Software Tester will be accountable under the general direction of the Test Manager for the prioritisation, design, execution and reporting of tests, using appropriate testing tools and techniques and conforming to agreed process standards and industry specific regulations. The purpose of testing is to ensure that new and amended systems, configurations, packages, or services, together with any interfaces, perform as specified (including security requirements) , and that the risks associated with deployment are adequately understood and documented. Testing includes the process of engineering, using and maintaining testware (test cases, test scripts, test reports, test plans, etc) to measure and improve the quality of the software being tested.
Skills and Knowledge required/ Major Responsibilities:
  1. Be proactive in gaining both business and technical context in order to create accurate test cases.
  2. Understand when to use both dynamic and preventative testing techniques
  3. A basic understanding in programming techniques to align with the use of Selenium WebDriver.
  4. An ability to manage competing priorities.
  5. Ability to learn and develop organisational specific skills so that you can work independently across the Project Office portfolio.
  1. Minimum 3 year’s Application Testing Experience.
  2. Mandatory Certification:
  • ISTQB Foundation Certification
  • Agile Certifications
SFIA Level of Responsibility Required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 3.
Location and Contract Term: The role is based in Canberra. 24 months contract.
Security Requirements: Due to the nature of the work, we require a minimum NV2 security clearance level. Candidates with current or recently held (and able to be re-activated) TSPV clearances will be highly regarded. All successful candidates will need to hold or upgrade to a TSPV prior to commencement
