Job Description

The Role:

The Department is seeking a experienced IT Architect for a 12 month contract.

Key Duties: 

• Lead the creation of new functional and non-functional requirements for the system

• Help with the planning product release plans and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities

• Provide an active role in mitigating impediments, that are impacting the team’s ability to reach their sprint goals

• Ability to identify, differentiate and extract technical and functional requirements based on use cases and user stories

• Advanced understanding of BPM frameworks

• Ability to create and maintain various architecture documents

• Skills to act as an interface between business functions, technology and build teams

• Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders

 

Skills and Experience Required:

•            Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a IT Application Architect

•            Tertiary education or qualifications in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or similar

•            Experience in gathering and writing functional and non-functional requirements

•            Experience in maintaining and creating UML diagrams

•            Practical experience in using Enterprise Architect (EA) Sparx or equivalent modelling and design tools

•            Support solution architect at an application architecture level

•            Communicate the product owners needs to the development teams

•            Contribute to the production of systems documentation that clearly articulates the design intent, user experience, systems and business processes, issues and risks

•            Running training sessions and workshops on system processes and designs

•            Have knowledge of software development and web technologies

•            Work collaboratively, develop own expertise and build the skills of others through knowledge transfer to achieve business outcomes

•            Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills

•            Excellent organizational and time management skills

•            Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills

•            Creative thinker with a vision and attention to detail

•            Past experience working on an identity-based solutions highly desirable

 

Location and Contract Term: This is a Canberra based role. Contract till November 2021. 2 x 12 month contract extension options pending budget and delegate approval.
