Job Description

The Role:

The role being advertised is for the Data Centre Automation project. The Data Centre Sub Program has been initiated by the Department to plan, design and migrate all applications out of our current data centre facility. The program will be delivered in following phases:


•     Discovery

•     Planning and Design

•     Migration and Implementation

•     Closure


Key Duties: 

• Undertake a range of activities in the development lifecycle

• Apply technical skills to design, implement and support workable solutions to meet business requirements

• Understand the strategic objectives of stakeholders in the development of products and delivery mechanisms to improve business outcomes

• Lead, change and deal with uncertainty in a positive and flexible manner; share information with others and assist them to adapt

• Apply technical skills to design, implement and support workable solutions to meet business requirements

• Work collaboratively with team members, management and internal and external stakeholders on a range of activities

• Actively participate in the development lifecycle, which may include analysis, design, building, testing, documenting, implementation and maintenance

• Work to agreed priorities, outcomes and time constraints in the research of current IT practices

 

Skills and Experience Required:

Infrastructure Automation - High Desirable

Highly Proficient developing in powershell, .net, and similar automation languages - Required, (5+ years’ experience - Highly Desirable)

Experience working with Hyper Converged Infrastructure - Desirable

Able to work in a geographically diverse team - Essential

Experience with orchestration tools - Desirable

Ability to perform testing and validation of scripts - Essential

Able to provide support and troubleshooting skills - Essential

Automation of environment components (accounts, access, security config) - Desirable

Understanding of enterprise level environments - Essential Experience with a variety of tools and languages and the ability to be flexible - Desirable


Location and Contract Term: Canberra based role. Contract till 30 June 2021. 3 x 2 month contract extension options pending budget and delegate approval.
 

Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens to apply. A baseline security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain is required.
