Job Description
One of our private clients, a large IT service provider, is looking to engage an experienced VMware specialist to work with one of their National Security Clients to deploy vRealize Automation (vRA) so that virtual servers can be self-provisioned/decommissioned by consumers.
This automated process must integrate with a number of supporting systems in order to replicate the current, manual method
Technical Requirements
- vRealize Automation version 8.x is used.
- The deployment of a method for the self-provisioning/decommissioning of virtual servers, ie, a self-service portal.
- Three, pre-determined, sizes of virtual servers will be available to self-provision.
- Windows 2019 or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8 will be available options for Operating Systems when self-provisioning a virtual server.
- The following integration points are required for all Windows 2019 virtual servers
- Operating System Modification
- Add computer description
- Rename drives
- Install anti-virus and trigger an update
- Set local administrator password to one created by Secret Server, as per Technical Requirement 5.
- Active Directory
- Join virtual server to Active Directory & destroy on decommission
- Add virtual server name to Active Directory
- Move machine to correct Active Directory Organisational Unit (OU)
- Create administrator group based upon virtual server name.
- Windows Update Service
- Configure virtual server to correct Windows Server Update Service (WSUS) server and trigger an update.
- Secret Server (version 10.7)
- Generate password from a template
- Store new and retrieve existing password Remove password on decommission
- System Centre Operations Manager (SCOM)
- Install SCOM agent.
- Domain Name System (DNS)
- Create DNS on virtual server commission
- Destroy on virtual server decommission.
- Operating System Modification
- The following integration points are required for all RHEL 8 virtual servers
- Active Directory
- Join virtual server to Active Directory & destroy on decommission
- Configure Active Directory authentication
- Secret Server (version 10.7)
- Generate password from a template
- Store new and retrieve existing password
- Remove password on decommission
- Domain Name System (DNS)
- Create DNS on virtual server commission
- Destroy on virtual server decommission.
- Satellite Registration
- Register virtual server with Satellite
- Remove on decommission
- Ansible
- Integration with existing Ansible Scripts.
- Active Directory
Location: Canberra
Contract Term: 12 months with possible extension options
Security Requirements: Must be an Australian Citizen. Due to the work environment, our client has requested that all candidates must hold a current NV2 Security Clearance.
