Job Description

The Planning Manager will be accountable under the general direction of the Commonwealth Director for the planning of capability enhancements. The role will involve working between department Senior Leadership, portfolio management, business stakeholders, business analysts, subject matter experts, and planning staff.
Skills and Knowledge:
  1. Experience with planning in a diverse ICT environment.
  2. Experience with Benefits Management.
  3. Experience with Change Management.
Major Responsibilities:
  1. Take full responsibility for leading and managing staff and activities for planning of capability projects and systems to meet department’s prioritised needs.
  2. Prepare a large complex government department capability planning document artefact tailored to suit department capability and system needs.
  3. Lead and manage large stakeholder groups focused on capability & system outcomes, and business transformation and realisation of benefits.
  4. Identify and manage risks and issues for planning. Escalate issues and seek advice from department senior leadership in a timely manner.
SFIA security level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 5.
Location and Contract Term: The role is based in Canberra. 24-month contract.
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered.
