Job Description

Seeking an Experienced BizTalk Developer to upgrade existing BizTalk 2010 applications with a focus on integration with IBM MQ, SAP and other systems.

The Role:

The Services, delivered in collaboration with and under supervision by nominated personnel, include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Analysis of existing BizTalk applications;
  • Updating existing design artefacts with proposed changes;
  • Implementation of proposed changes including liaising with testing, release management and operations teams;
  • Integration between BizTalk and SAP, Hexagon CAD systems;
  • Prepare and produce product and quality plans and advises systems development teams;
  • Accountable to design, code, test, correct, and document complex programs and program modifications from supplied specifications, using agreed standards and tools to achieve results;
  • Provide advice, guidance and assistance to less experienced colleagues on programming and software development;
  • Participate in project planning;
  • Build and sustain effective working relationships with team members and actively participate in team work and group activities;
  • Facilitate appropriate direction for the team by clearly communicating goals and objectives;
  • Resolve problems using expertise, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action;
  • Design and implement solutions to a range of unpredictable problems involving participation in the development of strategic initiatives;
  • Assist in setting up and maintain IBM API Connect;
  • Work effectively in a small team environment;
  • Provide knowledge/skills transfer to other team members; and
  • Record and maintain files/information in accordance with department requirements.

Skills and Experience Required
Essential criteria

Proven knowledge / experience in the following technologies:
  • Design, development, deployment, testing and support of BizTalk 2010, 2013 and/or 2016 applications
  • Enterprise Application Integration patterns
  • Mappings and Custom adapters.
  • .Net Frameworks – for developing Web APIs
  • CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps and using Git Repositories
  • Developing modern RESTful Web APIs (XML, XSLT, JSON), Swagger/OpenAPI standards and OAuth
  • API Lifecycle including design, development, testing and deployment

Highly Desirable
Experience in the following technologies:
  • API Management tools and products such as IBM API Connect, WSO2, MuleSoft etc.
  • SFTP Adapter, IBM MQ Adapter and SAP Adapter implementation
  • PowerShell
  • CI/CD tools such as TFS builds and Octopus Deploy

  • Well-developed analytical and conceptual skills
  • Self-motivated, able to use initiative, innovative and a strong commitment to achieve business objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Location and Contract Term:

Canberra Based – 12 Month Contract with 2 x 12 months extension options  


Security Requirements:

Must be an Australian Citizen. Highly desirable that potential candidates have maintained Australian Residency for the past 10 years.

This role requires a Negative Vetting Level 1 Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Candidates should be aware that the security clearance process can take some time to complete.
