Job Description

Seeking a Project Managers for the Security Enhancements Program (SEP).

The Role:

The Project Managers will be responsible for the successful delivery of key projects within the Program. The successful candidates will be required to work across the entire project lifecycle from inception to closeout, including taking carriage of currently in-flight projects. The positions will drive, manage and implement a technically complex ICT stream of work within the program. The successful candidates will be required to work closely with business areas, technical experts and external resources to successfully deliver their projects.

Duties: The successful candidates will be required to manage all aspects of their project/projects and undertake the following (but not limited to) tasks: • Activity scheduling and resource planning; • Development and management of project plans, schedules and budget forecasts; • Resource management; • Management of procurement activities; • Day to day management of the budget; • Ensuring deliverables are to expected quality standards; • Ensure close alignment of ICT deliverables with business requirements; • Communicate and manage changes in business processes and operations; • Risk and issues management; • Manage vendor/industry partner relationships; • Reporting; • Lead scrums and facilitate engagement with project resources; and • Provide support to the Program Manager and Program Executive as required. Skills and Experience: The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following: • Successful delivery of complex ICT projects with a strong software development component comprising of internal SMEs and external resources, utilising Project Management methodologies and best practice; • Successful elicitation of business requirements and subsequent procurement and implementation of Commercial of the Shelf (COTS) products in government organisations; • The ability and confidence to work collaboratively as part of a high performing team/organisation, establishing and maintaining effective partnerships with key internal and/or external stakeholders to identify, lead and deliver high quality business outcomes; • The ability to assist in the development and implementation of frameworks, policies, processes, guidelines and other resources that deliver business outcomes for organisations; • A track record of delivering outcomes and meeting organisational and business objectives; • A demonstrated capacity to provide timely, compelling and concise advice to inform executive members and senior management to support decision making, including high quality project reporting and budget management; • High level judgement, decision making and advice to deliver effective people management; • Outstanding written and oral communication skills; and • A current Australian Government Negative Vetting 1 security clearance at minimum and willingness to obtain an NV 2 clearance.


Skills and Experience Required
Essential criteria,
  • Demonstrated skills and experience (Respondents are required to provide a CV showing skills and experience against the requirements)
  • Referee comments (provide names and contact details of two current referees)
  • A current Australian Government Negative Vetting 1 security clearance at minimum and willingness to obtain an NV 2 clearance
Location and Contract Term:

Canberra Based – 5 Month Contract with 2 x12 months extension options  

Security Requirements:

Must be an Australian Citizen. NV1 Security Clearance is required and willingness to obtain an NV 2 clearance
