Job Description

The Project Manager (Risk & Issues) will be responsible for identifying areas of risks within the large complex government department Program and providing recommendations for improvements in processes and control procedures. The Project Manager will work to identify and evaluate associated risks and conduct risk mitigation activities. The large complex government department has multiple projects which range in size, the Project Manager may be required to work across these as well.
 
Major Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain a collaborative program environment that supports the projects within it. Provide leadership and advice to members of the large complex government department Program Office.
  2. Monitor projects by management of program budget, assurance, risk management and governance to ensure new capabilities are delivered in accordance with the capability delivery plan.
  3. Scope, develop and issue a benefits realisation plan.
  4. Provide and seek to improve branch governance and reporting pertaining to capability delivery
  5. Continue development of a management framework which manages and reports on dependencies and interfacing between projects
SFIA security level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 6.
 
Location and Contract Term: The role is based in Canberra. Contract until July 2023. Extension Options: may consider 2 x 12 months.
 
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered.
