Job Description

The ICT System Administrator is responsible for complex activities and tasks relating to monitoring and maintenance of ICT servers and software.  The System Administrator will conduct these activities whilst working cohesively and flexibly with related stakeholders to the large complex government department.
 
Skills and Knowledge:
  1. Experience in the successful delivery of complex ICT outcomes across an Enterprise.
  2. Proven experience in Windows system administration.
  3. Demonstrated experience and understanding of ITIL processes and procedures is considered advantageous.
 
Major Responsibilities:
  1. Administer, monitor and maintain, complex Microsoft technologies. Provide advance skills in delivery of services to ICT platforms utilising Commonwealth approved designs.
  2. Manage capabilities that maintain the Standard Operating Environment (SOE) while monitoring the environment.
  3. Develop, maintain and perform operational procedures and document changes to ensure operational tasks are performed reliably and consistently to reduce the risk of unplanned outages.
  4. Provide administration with focus on scripted cross forest object migration, planning and coordination.
 
SFIA security level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 4.
Location and Contract Term: The role is based in Canberra. 24-month contract.
 
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered.
