Job Description

The Cloud Automation Engineer will be required to develop and integrate software employing an Agile Software Development Methodology (SDM). The position includes developing software, integrating Commercial off the Shelf and Government off the Shelf software, documenting technical processes, and assisting with testing and deployment. The successful candidate will need highly developed software development skills and a proven ability to work within an integrated team of technical/non-technical personnel.

Skills and Knowledge:
  1. Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform or other cloud platforms.
  2. Experience in IT cloud system design.
  3. Experience in Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Kubernetes or Terraform
  4. Experience with virtual routers and VPN configuration
Major Responsibilities:
  1. Automate the deployment of cloud services.
  2. In conjunction with developers, build a pipeline that allows for development, testing, QA and production development of code.
  3. Produce and update unit and integration tests for infrastructure and software that is being developed.
  4. Contribute to Linux and/or Windows administration and hardening.
Location and Contract Term: The role is based in Canberra. Contract terms between 12-24 months will be considered.
SFIA security level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 4.
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered.
