Job Description

The Software Integrator / Technical Writer will be required to integrate, extend, and document software employing an Agile Software Development Methodology. The candidate will engage with technical staff and ICT Security to deliver technical / security documentation relating to integrating Commercial Off the Shelf and Government Off the Shelf software as well as documenting technical processes and assisting with testing and deployment of these systems.
The successful candidate/s will need software development skills, an ability to produce high-quality technical documentation and a proven ability to work within an integrated team of technical/non-technical personnel.
 
Skills and Knowledge:
  1. Python, Java, Java Messaging Service, Javascript, J2EE, RESTful web services
  2. Puppet, Ansible and Docker automation tools.
  3. Springboot and React frameworks
  4. Demonstrated understanding of IT process and infrastructure/security related projects.
Major Responsibilities:
  1. Enhance and support automation capability for existing systems and recommend/design new structures and tools which meet business requirements which take into account the target environment. Integrate Commercial Off the Shelf and Government Off the Shelf software. Translate logical designs into physical designs and integrate software employing an Agile Software Development Methodology.
  2. Monitor systems and infrastructure; provide assistance with support requests to fix and troubleshoot issues.
  3. Implement and maintain automated testing. Provide feedback on implementation and design aspects as required from other areas.
Location and Contract Term: The role is based in Canberra. Contract Terms: 12 months from commencement.
SFIA security level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 4.
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered.
