Job Description

The Data Governance Officer will assist stakeholders in the formation and execution of a data governance framework based on current policy and standards in support of organisational data sharing objectives.  The successful candidate will need to have an understanding of Data Governance and a proven ability to work within an integrated team of technical/non-technical personnel.
Skills and Knowledge:
  1. Data sharing principles.
  2. Risk Management.
  3. Data stewardship.
  4. Familiarity in the development and use of data registers.
Major Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure that data sharing requirements are defined, documented and translated into effective and consistent processes.
  2. Contribute to the development of standards, policies and procedures, with a focus on accountability, to support the creation and on-going implementation of data governance within the business.
  3. Support stakeholders to ensure best practice and legal frameworks are followed with regards to organisational data sharing
Location and Contract Term: The role is based in Canberra. Contract Terms: 12 months from commencement.
SFIA security level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 4.
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered.
