Job Description

The Role:

As an IT Application Developer, you’ll work in a team as part of an Agile Release Train to build cutting edge systems. You will support and undertake a variety of technical and administrative tasks and activities to design, build, test and maintain IT applications across the Department. You will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You’ll provide IT application support and assist with small change initiatives and contribute to a complex program of work. Your day-to-day work will involve sharing your knowledge and providing complex technical solutions to produce high quality results and deliver business needs. You’ll seek new and innovative ways to improve our current and future work through our agile team environment.


Skills and Experience Required:

•            An experienced web developer with practical experience in developing Single Page Applications (SPA) in Durandal or Angular frameworks, specifically utilising technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery

•            Has experience in utilizing JavaScript libraries such as Knockout.

•            Has an understanding of design patterns such as MVVM and MVC.

•            Experience in Visual Studio, SQL, .Net, and REST services

•            Has experience in testing unit testing and automation testing frameworks such as Jasmine and Selenium

•            Apply technical skills to design, implement and support workable solutions to meet business requirements

•            Research tools and methods to improve IT platform capabilities and contribute to the development and implementation of business improvement strategies and change initiatives

•            Be accountable for the delivery of projects or activities involving the development and/or maintenance of computer applications in accordance with Department standards and guidelines

•            Actively participate in the development lifecycle, which may include analysis, design, building, testing, documenting, implementation and maintenance

•            Work collaboratively with team members, management and internal and external stakeholders on a range of activities

•            Take the initiative to undertake problem solving and incident resolution and demonstrate an understanding of change control and release management procedures

•            Provide advice and undertake more-complex activities associated with developing and/or supporting computer applications

•            Apply technical skills to design, implement and support workable solutions to meet business requirements

•            Develop and maintain a network with others internally and externally, build relationships with team members, management and a range of stakeholders Research and develop continuous improvement processes to enhance procedures of current and new work practices

•            Develop and maintain necessary levels of expertise and take responsibility for sharing knowledge with others

•            Deliver maintenance and enhancements or provide knowledge to systems

•            Be agile in approach to collaboration and delivery of services

Location and Contract Term: This role is located in Box Hill, Victoria. Contract till May 2022 with 3 x 12 month contract extension options pending budget and delegate approval
