Job Description

The Role:

As a Systems Analyst you will be:

– working in an agile development environment on large scale release trains.

- dealing in large, complex IT systems or applications and delivering business and agency outcomes in a complex stakeholder environment.

– coordinating or delivering application and system integration initiatives in complex IT environments involving multiple vendors and/or government agencies – developing, updating and reviewing technical design documentation

 

Key Duties: 

Provide expert advice in identifying the problems and assess their significance (risk and issues) in the development of backend and/or frontend applications.

 

 Produce/maintain high quality design artefacts clearly articulating the design intent, user experience, systems and business processes interactions.

 

 Understand and comply with the Department corporate project management and governance policies, the Department design, systems development and maintenance methodologies and quality assure the work of others to meet these standards.

 

 Think about the future, consider the long-term implications of application problems, and take action within agreed timeframes and quality requirements.

 

 Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to analyse, understand system requirements, and leverage expertise to solve the complex problems to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.

 

 Evaluate the impact of change requests and errors and suggest solutions and mitigation strategies to ensure minimal impact on business operations Identify risks with application issues and take these into account when planning, decision making and priority setting.

 

Work collaboratively in a team, engage in knowledge transfer and guide and mentor less experienced employees to achieve business outcomes.

 

Manage a range of systems performance enhancements through the Department change process and be responsible for meeting service level

 

Location and Contract Term: Canberra based role. Contract till May 2022. 2 x 6 month contract extension options pending budget and delegate approval
