Job Description

The Test Manager (engineer) will be accountable under broad direction for leading the planning and execution of verification and validation testing across the Sub Program Office projects. The successful candidate will be required to develop test strategies and test plans, and may involve test case development and execution. The Test Manager will be required to establish automated testing capability for the projects and sustainment office, including bespoke developed applications, and lead other testers from at least two other projects. 
Skills and Knowledge:
  1. Demonstrated expertise in software development testing (Agile methods) and/or commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) integration testing.
  2. Relevant professional and academic certification is highly desirable.
Major Responsibilities:
  1. Establish a test framework for team members to perform functional, system and validation/verification tests on mixed OS and web based systems.
  2. Manage reporting and documentation of all formal testing outcomes to relevant Project Directors and technical teams, ensuring all identified defects are rated for impact and priority and resolved by technical teams.
  3. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with end users, security accreditation personnel, operational support teams and other stakeholders, to proactively identify and plan testing requirements of components and system deliverables.
Location and Contract Term: The role is based in Canberra. 12 or 24 months after the commencement date.
SFIA security level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 5.
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered.
