The Digital Profession Team needs an experienced and enthusiastic Administrator to start working immediately to help administer the membership process and membership tools.

Purpose of the role The Digital Profession aims to lift the digital capability of the Australian Public Service (APS) workforce to transform government services.

Its objective is to improve the digital expertise of individuals, organisations, and the APS workforce, and to meet digital capability needs to transform government services. The Digital Profession hosts programs, events, and initiatives to uplift capability and provide opportunities for learning and career development of the APS digital workforce.

Moving into its next phase, the Digital Profession has an ambitious goal to grow its membership and become the standard of excellence for APS digital professionals.

About the Role:

  • This role is responsible administrating the sign up process, creating user profiles and issuing digital micro-credentials.
  • The role works closely with the service designer to also make improvements to the sign up processes iteratively and responsively.
  • The position will ensure a smooth sign up process for members, enabling the growth of the profession and recognition for members of their skills.
  • As the Administrator for the Digital Profession, you will be reporting to the Director of Member Services and work closely with the service designer to continuously improve the sign up process for members.
Role specific tasks/responsibilities:

  • Managing enquiries and ensuring the sign up process is smooth for members by checking automated emails go out on time and in the right order.
  • Communication with members about the next stage in the process is clear and easy to understand.
  • Build member profiles based on the sign up information
  • Issue digital badges as a micro-credential using a badging platform to members
  • Under the guidance of the service designer you may be called on to help improve the sign up process iteratively.
Selection criteria

Essential criteria

  • Excellent administration skills, especially in sign up processes, building user profiles and working with data.
  • Knowledge and preferably experience in HTML, CSS and mail merge.
  • Experience with automated mailing software (for example Mailchimp).
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Understanding of the Digital Service Standard and Style Manual.
Desirable criteria

  • Experience of working in agile.
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Understanding of accessibility.
  • Experience with community or marketing automation platforms.
