Job Description

Our Large Federal Government client has a requirement for Junior Infrastructure Engineers to deliver a range of technical capabilities to the Australian Cyber Security Centre in a key capability domain. You will need to be highly motivated, keen to learn, and have a proven ability to work within an integrated team of technical and non-technical personnel. This role isn’t just about BAU i.e. keeping the lights on. Given all that we have going on in our business you will have the opportunity to be involved in significant projects and provide your insights and expertise as well as fast track your experience.
 
Major Responsibilities / Skills and Knowledge required:
  1. Experience in:
  • Server Infrastructure installation.
  • End User Computing support and installation.
  1. Some experience in one or more of the following disciplines:
  • Network Administration, ideally with Cisco, HPE or Palo Alto.
  • Microsoft Windows Administration.
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Ubuntu Linux Administration.
  • Virtualisation platforms, such as VMware vSphere.
  1. Perform 1st and 2nd level troubleshooting (as required) and support to resolution of all infrastructure related incidents and requests.
  2. Produce designs, design patterns, configurations, and documentation is accordance with industry standards
  3. Have a strong desire to continually learn and evolve. Can think outside the box.
 
Desirable criteria
  1. Experience or an interest in automation and/or Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  2. Knowledge of the Information Security Manual (ISM) and how to apply it to infrastructure and networking.
  3. Strong administrative and time management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritise work and work independently as required.
 
Estimated start date: 05-07-2021
Location of work: Australian Capital Territory
Length of contract: 12 months
Contract extensions: 12 Months subject to an Organisational Suitability Assessment
Security Requirements: Due to the nature of the work, we require the minimum NV1 security clearance.
