Job Description

Our Large Federal Government client is seeking highly motivated project management professionals to undertake a variety of Project Manager roles. Our ideal candidates will have experience and possess knowledge of project management principles, large complex government department legislative frameworks and government decision-making. They will be strong and dedicated leaders that demonstrates strategic thinking, are pro-active and responsive, and comfortable in managing risk in a collaborative manner. They will possess exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with a strong focus on effective engagement of stakeholders to deliver outcomes in a complex and technical environment.
 
Project Managers are accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex to very complex project management work within an integrated workforce.
 
Skills and Knowledge / Major Responsibilities:
 
The roles include leadership and complex project management including integration, verification and validation and testing to achieve agreed priorities and outcomes. The positions work collaboratively with many stakeholders.
The Project Manager will exercise a considerable degree of independence and perform a leadership role. They will exercise sound decision making and judgement to provide expert advice. They will have in-depth knowledge of the Project Management function. They will coordinate and perform detailed or sensitive work in projects that impact on strategic, political and operational outcomes for our Large Federal Government client.

They will develop and implement work plans, set performance indicators, and review individual, team and business performance, focusing on identifying opportunities for building team capability and continuous improvement. They will have demonstrated experience and ability to write key project documentation, set work that align with the strategic objectives and communicate expected outcomes.

The Project Manager will be responsible for actively managing key stakeholder relationships and will be required to identify relevant stakeholders’ expectations and concerns to develop and communicate methodologies and practices to achieve outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development of their work area.

Location and Contract Term: The role is based in Canberra. 12 months from contract commencement
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered.
