Job Description


Our Government client has a requirement for a suitably skilled and experienced IT Change Manager to work on various IT development projects.

The successful candidate is required to:

  • Effectively manage the change aspects of large, complex programs that include technology implementation and significant business change components;
  • Formulate and develop program and business change artifacts, engage with internal and external stakeholders to support successful delivery of business change and transition of programs;
  • Work closely with members of the different program teams, including program managers, architects, developers and testers to ensure cross-project dependencies are clearly mapped and managed;
  • Take ownership and deliver continuous improvements and maturity levels to service delivery processes, in particular Change, Configuration and Release Management;
  • Co-ordinate a Forward Schedule of Change and Release Calendar;
  • Identify priorities, communicate effectively and support business resources in order to achieve agreed delivery objectives;
  • Proactively assess and analyse any change risks and issues that may impact program teams delivery and develop plans to address or otherwise mitigate them;
  • Maintain productive relationships and ongoing liaison with internal and external stakeholders; and
  • Participate in business and technical change management forums and provide regular reporting to relevant governance forums.

The successful candidate will possess some of the following skills, experience and qualifications necessary to perform the role:

  1. Demonstrated program change experience in medium to large infrastructure, system integration or business change projects;
  2. Experience in a Service Delivery role with a focus on Change, Configuration & Release Manager, in a Service Delivery organisation;
  3. Experience or knowledge of transition of changes and/or projects using Agile Methodologies;
  4. Ability to engage with business representatives and communicate with all levels of stakeholders;
  5. Proven track-record of delivering process improvements in line with industry best practice;
  6. Demonstrated experience in managing change in medium to large project teams with multi-skilled resources;
  7. Strong understanding of methods, processes and procedures relating to project delivery;
  8. Strong understanding of ICT concepts and system development lifecycle management methods;
  9. Ability to work autonomously or within a portfolio team to meet objectives;
  10. Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability in developing and publishing program documentation, including, but not limited to, Program Briefs and Program Management Plans.

Location and Contract Term:
The role is based in Canberra ACT, with an estimated start of Monday 6th September 2021 for 6 months, with 2 x 6 month extensions subject to approval.

Security Requirements:
Applicants must be Australian Citizens and must have current Negative Vetting level 1 clearance NV1.
