Job Description

Our large government department client is seeking the services of experienced application architect, with experience designing application architectures for hybrid multi cloud environments, including but not limited to Azure and AWS. This position is a core resource for coordination of design and implementation for business application projects.
The successful person will apply their considerable expertise and knowledge in support of the various business system dependencies between the cloud environments and existing business applications. This position undertakes governance and assurance for developing systems to ensure consistency with departmental business system standards.
The position works with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure compliance with the enterprise architecture including patterns, reusable services, data sovereignty, security compliance and operational requirements.

Skills and Knowledge required / Major Responsibilities:

  1. Proven experience in design and delivery of enterprise-level integrated solutions that span multiple security domains, including consideration of their underlying infrastructure
  2. Proven experience leading and influencing end-to-end solution designs, including facilitation of solution implementation
  3. Strong experience in one or more of: TFS/git, SQL Server, ADFS, Azure, AWS, Cisco networking, F5, Windows Server, Vmware, .net core, Dynamic CRM, SharePoint
  4. Strong experience in the detailed design of secure infrastructure and networking implementations with a hybrid multi cloud environment
  5. Strong technical architecture experience and applied knowledge of the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and Information Security Manual (ISM)
  6. Demonstrated ability to work effectivity with diverse technical and business teams and understanding of importance of aligning with Enterprise Architecture
Desirable criteria
  1. Experience with Infrastructure as Code
 
Location of work: Australian Capital Territory
Length of contract: 6 months
Contract extensions: The department may extend for period or periods up to 30 June 2024
Security Requirements: Due to the nature of the work, we require the NV1.
