Job Description

The Cloud program requires a confident Technical Architect to translate the vision for the program to the technical team and plays a pivotal part throughout the entire program lifecycle.  They will provide technical leadership and make decisions regarding the most vital parts of the system that is being developed.  They will work with various stakeholders to gather requirements and functional specifications and integrate any updated specifications and requirements into the architecture. 
The Technical Architect will be responsible for developing technology solutions and mapping the business requirements to systems/technical requirements and explain complex problems to management.

Skills and Knowledge:
  1. Experience/Certifications with AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform or other cloud platforms
  2. Experience in IT cloud system design
  3. Experience with infrastructure-as-code concepts including developing scripts for build, deployment, maintenance and related tasks
Major Responsibilities:
  1. Develop capability roadmaps, models and plans to drive forward the Cloud strategy, taking advantage of opportunities to improve business performance.
  2. Manage the design, policies and standards, working proactively to maintain a stable, viable architecture and ensure consistency of design within the program, and gaining endorsement by the program’s Design Authority.
  3. Monitor industry products to gain knowledge and understanding of currently emerging Cloud technologies.
  4. Identify system, infrastructure and project interdependencies and balance competing demands to ensure project deliverables are achieved.
Location and Contract Term: The role is based in Canberra. 12 or 24 months from commencement.
 
SFIA security level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 5.
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered.
