Job Description

The Cloud Program has a requirement for a Business Analyst who will work independently within broad guidelines to contribute to the success of a complex and large-scale digital transformation program.  This will involve working with business stakeholders, project managers, systems architects and delivery teams to elicit and communicate business and technical requirements for successful delivery.
The Business Analyst will analyse, facilitate, model, and organise information in order to reconcile conflicts, elicit requirements and distinguish solution ideas from business needs. The service provider will produce analysis and design documentation such as high level and detailed requirements, business process maps, user stories and user interface specifications. 

Skills and Knowledge:

  1. Skill and experience in commercial cloud platforms and concepts considered highly desirable
  2. Formal business analysis qualifications (e.g. Business Analyst Certification, Agile) or equivalent.
  3. Experience with agile methodology.
Major Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the process for gathering, documenting, communicating and managing requirements including the development of detailed business and functional requirements, requirements traceability, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, task and workflow analysis and user journeys.
  2. Undertake stakeholder engagement and manage relationships with customers that have unique and often conflicting requirements and priorities. This includes undertaking sound planning and setting of priorities with internal customers to manage realistic expectations and workable solutions.
  3. Work with the project management team to prioritise delivery and manage risks (including developing mitigation strategies) to project scope and schedule.
  4. Synthesise effective reporting and provide influential reporting to key stakeholders
Location and Contract Term: The role is based in Canberra. 12 or 24 months from commencement.
 
SFIA security level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 5.
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered.
