Job Description

The Software Developer will be a motivated member of the team focused on the development of the Business Intelligence System. The role will require intermediate software development skills and be expected to contribute to solution design and technology decisions. Data analysis and modelling skills are desirable.
The program of work has multiple projects which range in size.  The successful candidate may be required to work across one or more of these projects. The role will need a proven ability to work within an integrated team of technical/non-technical personnel.

Skills and Knowledge:

  1. Software development: experience integrating COTS and GOTS products as part of enterprise technical solutions using languages such as C#, Java, and Javascript.
  2. Communication: work with the project team to communicate technical concepts using business language to effect business change.
Major Responsibilities:
  1. Develop tabular data models using SSAS.
  2. Load data sources using Logstash and other technologies into Elastic Search.
  3. Profile data sources using SQL and Kibana.
  4. Contribute to the delivery of high quality analysis and User Experience outcomes.
  5. Adhere to software engineering processes and contribute to software engineering process improvement.
  6. Work effectively as a productive member of an integrated Agile team to support a prioritised schedule of work.
Location and Contract Term: The role is based in Canberra. 12 months from commencement.
SFIA security level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 5.
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered.
