Job Description

The Senior Data Flow Engineer will engineer, implement, test, debug, and monitor data flows to ensure the continuous distribution of data from sources to destinations in an efficient and timely manner consistent with security protocols.
The role will involve working with business stakeholders, project managers, system architects, software developers and date engineer personnel.

Skills and Knowledge required / Major Responsibilities:
  1. Data Flow coordination to support deployed and new installations. Qualified candidates will work with other team members on various levels of operating systems, applications and related support in a cloud technology and NiFi Linux environment
  2. Evaluate and validate dataflow formats and work with developers to correct errors or enhance content.
  3. Strong cloud technology or Apache NiFi experience implementing complex data flows (eg. Multiple sources and destinations, dynamically responding to errors, automatic data replay, etc)
  4. Devise methods to improve dataflow processing, distribution, and reliability.
  5. Produce dataflow metrics reporting as required by customer requirements.
  6. Ability to assist the team with data quality assessment using experience of relevant tools and programming languages and general understanding of the data, potential issues such as missing values, duplicate data, and the implications of data quality for the data science/analytics process.
SFIA Level of Responsibility Required:
Location of work: Australian Capital Territory
Length of contract: 12 and 24 month contracts will be considered, unless negotiated otherwise.
Security Requirements: Due to the nature of the work, the mandatory clearance level required for these roles is Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) as a minimum, however Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) clearance holders are preferred. Successful candidates will be required to upgrade or gain acceptance of their clearances to TSPV status before commencement and depending on the age and / or level of their current clearance, could take between three and 12 months.
