Job Description

Overview

One of our Federal Government clients require an experienced Information Architect to review and complete an information architecture and develop content types for a new intranet platform on Sharepoint Online.

The Information Architect will apply user-centred design principles to consult with business areas to build upon an existing information architecture to implement a modern intranet design taking into consideration:
  • Content audit and review
  • User and business needs
  • Navigation
  • Page layouts
  • Homepage design and content
Duties include:
  • Understanding staff needs and business requirements, by conducting user research with staff across the organisation and reviewing existing research.
  • Build upon a draft information structure for the intranet based on the results of needs analysis, best practices and other sources.
  • Develop draft designs including page layouts for key pages such as the home page, landing and content pages of the intranet.
  • Test and refine the design of the intranet, conducting task-based usability testing with staff to ensure the designs are easy and intuitive, and revisiting where required.
  • Finalise the designs, and document to the required level.
  • Advice on the implementation designs for SharePoint Online.
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts to gather, analyse and translate technical information for required documents.
  • Define metadata and taxonomies for content types.
  • Contribute to and update the content strategy for internal content.
 Essential:
  • In-depth experience in developing, designing and implementing websites and/or intranets
  • Hands on experience implementing information architecture using user-centred design principles, including a knowledge of usability and user experience principles
  • Deep understanding of content types, metadata and taxonomies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work productively with SMEs and other internal stakeholders. Including Presentation and facilitation skills (run workshops)
  • Demonstrated experience and/or degree or qualification in a relevant discipline
Desirable:
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite of products, in particular Office365 and SharePoint Online.
  • Performed a similar role for a global organisation
 
Location and Contract Term:
The role can be based Offsite, ACT, NSW, QLD or VIC with an estimated start date of 18 October 2021 to 30 June 2022 with potential extension available.

Applicants must be Australian Citizens and ideally have Baseline clearance, or ability to obtain.
