Job Description

Role Title: Project Officer

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: 12 months from start date or 30th June 2022

Hours: 7hr/day 35hr/week

Location: Parramatta (currently working from home)

Primary purpose of the role
The Project Officer provides a range of project and administrative support with an emphasis on designing and delivering grants and funded programs, including policies and procedures to support the delivery of outcomes. The role also supports the executive in effectively communicating with staff, external stakeholders and partners regarding the delivery of the capital program and key projects.

Key accountabilities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a range of grants and funded programs, including policies and procedures to support the delivery of the capital program
  • Provide a range of project and administrative support, including preparation of reports and briefs, maintaining project documentation, implementing and monitoring project plans and reporting on status of key stages to be delivered to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time and within budget
  • Provide timely advice and support to team members on issues relating to the delivery of grant rounds and funded programs, and the contract management of capital projects
  • Monitor and responded quickly to requests for information
  • Communicate with key stakeholders and coordinate working groups, committees and consultations to facilitate exchange of information and support project completion in line with project plans
  • Work collaboratively exchanging information to support the team to achieve objectives and work outcomes
  • Assist with the planning and organisation of each stage of the grant life cycle
Key challenges
  • Managing competing, and at times conflicting priorities, within agreed timeframes and to the required standard
  • Working collaboratively across a range of areas to ensure effective program development and implementation
Key Skills
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to write fluently in a range of styles and formats
  • Commitment to excellent customer service
  • Minimum five years in a project support or equivalent role
  • Government agency experience highly desirable
  • Grant administration experience desirable
